On this Earth, almost everything is documented. Cameras are everywhere, communications are archived, and people leave enormous digital traces behind them. Strangely, this hasn't made the truth easier to find. It has made it harder.

There is simply too much information, and convincing stories can be constructed from almost anything. I became a private investigator because I was good at finding the inconsistencies — the timestamp that didn't fit, the missing piece of a timeline, the detail everyone accepted without checking.
